Laser

What is laser therapy?
A laser is a focused beam of light that emits photon energy. When the light is focused properly, all of the photons are traveling in the same direction and at the same wavelength. This is called coherent light. The cells in our bodies communicate with one another through coherent light. Each type of tissue communicates with a slightly different wavelength of light. Unhealthy tissue vibrates at a slower frequency than healthy tissue. We use laser light set at a frequency that will stimulate unhealthy tissues to vibrate at a more normal frequency. We have been treating our patients with low level laser therapy for almost a decade.

What conditions can laser therapy treat?

Relieves pain
Absorbed laser energy stimulates the release of Beta endorphins, increases nitric oxide release, stabilized the membrane potential of nerve cells, decreases the amount of circulating Substance B and bradykinin levels, and increases the threshold of pain perception.

Reduces Inflammation
Laser therapy promotes microcirculation by increasing vasodilation and promotes lymphatic flow thereby reducing inflammatory edema. Photonic energy inhibits the synthesis of inflammatory cytokines and prostaglandin.

Accelerate wound healing
Photobiomodulation stimulates the proliferation of fibroblasts, the cells that produce essential collagen for tissue repair. Increased leukocyte and macrophage activity occurs at the wound site due to the stimulatory effect laser light has on the vascular system. Small capillaries are regenerated at a faster rate after laser stimulation

Increase cellular metabolic activity
Chromophore stimulation in the mitochondria increases syntheses of ATP,RNA, DNA, and cellular proteins causing accelerate tissue repair and cell growth.
Lasers treat acupuncture points

Our patients object to being treated at some sensitive acupuncture points on their feet or face. These points can be stimulated with the laser and without touching the patient.
Lasers effectiveness can be proven using quantum physics. While our patients can’t comprehend how lasers work, they are just happy that the laser therapy that they receive from us helps control their pain and heals their wounds.
