Everyone at RRVC went out of their way to help me in my mission last
fall to spay/neuter a group of stray neighborhood kitties. I appreciated the fact that I could drop
off a cat on rather short notice and have the needed care provided. Best of all, I know the kitties
received the same professional care and kindness that one would expect for their family pet.
Thank you very much!

I have been taking my dogs to RRVC for many years and feel that they do and have always done an excellent job.
They all truly care about their four legged patients. They remember me and always know the names of my pets. Everyone is always willing
to listen and take as much time as is needed for treatment and questions. I can’t imagine going anywhere else for veterinary pet care.

I have been with Root River Vet since they started. I especially like the herd health program they started with us. I think they are very up to date on their vet practices. I have always been satisfied and will continue to use their services.

Max “the cat” has been a patient at RRVC for all of his 10 years. I wouldn’t even think about taking him elsewhere! The knowledge, concern and courtesy of the doctors, techs and office staff are unsurpassed.
Max has had low back problems – weakness and pain – since he was a kitten. For several years now he has been fortunate to receive regular chiropractic treatments from Dr. Linda Sifford. These treatments have been very beneficial. Recently Max fell off a high bed while playing with his toys. Nothing was broken but he was limping and was obviously in pain. Again, chiropractic and cold-laser therapy were used. It was just a matter of two weeks and Max was again “shooting” his big marbles and swatting his toy mice – but on the floor not the bed!
We in this area are so fortunate to have veterinarians who keep up with the latest advancements in pet and animal care. I’ll continue to spread the word that RRVC is the “Best Place to Go!”

RRVC is an organization that is the rare combination of cheerful, caring staff with high level veterinarian skills.
They have great follow-up and communications to make sure our pets are doing well. We have a dog (Jake) that believes the RRVC staff are his very best friends.
We trust them totally with our “babies”, heck, to be honest, I think they have better healthcare than I do.
Thanks for everything you do, your very special to us.

We consider our four-legged friends an important part of our family; so, when we planned a move from
Iowa to Southeastern Minnesota, one of our greatest concerns was finding a good veterinarian for our three dogs and two cats.
On the advice of Dixie Aug, a friend and very strong animal advocate in Preston, we decided to visit the Root River Veterinary
Center to see if it met our needs. We met with Dr. Linda Sifford and were immediately impressed with her approach to caring for
small animals. We decided that this veterinary practice was just what we were looking for, so we introduced Dr. Linda to our menagerie.
One of the things that impressed us, besides the caring manner of Dr. Linda and her staff, was the recognition that if
a procedure was more complex that she felt comfortable with, there was no hesitation in referring us to a specialist or
a facility with more capability than what was available at RRVC. Shortly after our move here, we found we had a need for
a complicated surgical removal of a large tumor from our older Labrador, Cato. We were referred to a larger facility in
Rochester where the procedure was done by a veterinary surgeon with much experience in this area. In our opinion, the
recognition of when to send a patient on to a better-equipped facility is an indication of the dedication of Dr. Linda
and her staff to the welfare of the animals. Since we have lived in the area, we have been referred to Dermatology,
Orthopedic and Ophthalmology specialists as the need arose.
Another thing that impresses us is the way in which Dr. Linda constantly pursues new techniques and improved methods
for treating animals. This is an indication of the dedication to excellence we see at the RRVC. The care our animals
have received from the RRVC staff has always been excellent. The staff is always friendly and we feel that they care
as much for our pets as we do. They never act as if our questions are silly or stupid, always taking the time to
listen and respond in a caring manner. At the end of life, as must come to all, the compassion Dr. Linda and her
staff show t us is truly sincere and we know they feel our loss in a real way. We really appreciate the “paw prints”
they give to us as a way of remembering the lost loved ones.
We consider Dr. Linda and her staff truly our friends as well as a wonderful resource for our animals, and we heartily
recommend their facility to anyone who has a need for veterinary services.

We are so fortunate in Fillmore County to have such an extraordinary small animal health
center so close. The creative ways you show in raising funds with purse parties and garage sales to support the food
shelf with pet food and provide medical care for abandoned animals or families who can’t afford to care for them shows
your dedication to the well being of all animals.
Three years ago our Australian Sheppard came down with a
cough, we thought it was fur balls at first, as it progressed we brought her to you, where you cooed over her on the
floor making her feel comfortable not making her try to lie or stand on a table where she did not feel sure footed.
She gained your trust and was tested with out a fuss. Her diagnosis was lymphoma; it was comfort care for her until
her battle was over.
The check up calls were very reassuring to us from Dr. Linda and staff. When
she passed away we were comforted with a remembrance card and her paw print in plaster as a keep sake.
A few years later our big fluffy Tommy cat did not get up for breakfast, we knew something was wrong as he has never
missed a meal. I was able to bring Tommy in that day after looking at him you wanted to do some tests, hydrate him and
observe him overnight. You called the next morning to let me know he did well overnight. I was horrified to learn that
he is a diabetic. You reassured us that this was going to be ok, and it has been. We have been able to control this
with food and teeth cleaning to this point. You gave us before and after photos of his mouth, what a difference a
cleaning can make. Tommy never minds his check ups as he is talked to and chin chuckled each time.
Alley cat was piddling in the house, she has never done this; I once again called the office. Although you were
booked you said bring her in and leave her we will find time to see her between patients. She had a bladder infection,
you gave her medication and on the follow up visit you asked if you could give her a worm pill. “You’re kidding, you do that?
Of course give it to her” what service.
Your newsletters are very insightful and a great reminder of
simple things like when to apply tick medicine that helps us all enjoy a healthy life. If my husband would allow me to
have livestock, I know they would receive incredible care as to the rest of our fury ones.
You have provided us with the best possible pet care, what you do not know is that I love to take a peak in the
recovery room where all the patients are sleeping after surgery covered in paw print blankets. This gives me the
greatest peace of mind knowing how well our pawed family is treated when we are not with them. Thank you, all of you
for the big and little things you do for us all.

We are so lucky to have the RRVC in Preston. It also services the entire area. We have had several
dogs over the years and have had excellent service in all cases. We have had our dogs checked from the time we get them.
This includes a physical, the necessary immunizations and treatment for any and all problems.
The doctors and staff
are so friendly, compassionate and willing to help us wherever they can. It saves us so much time not to have to travel
elsewhere for care. We have had several emergency situations that the well qualified vets have handled from stitches to
fractures etc. they have always been available day or night. We have had dogs that were old and ill and it was very difficult
to part with them, the staff was so compassionate and supportive. We even got a paw print in plaster in the mail with his name on it.
It was truly a surprise and a wonderful memento.
Our present dog is a special Doberman that we adopted from Paws and Claws
2 years ago. The entire group at the clinic were so good to her and she bonded with them. She has had two surgeries extracting
abscessed teeth and cleaning. She is still on preventative antibiotics monthly for that. Even with all this trauma she is happy
to go back to visit them.
I would never consider going to another vet facility – we have the best –
thank you Root River Vet Clinic and staff.
